Benighted - Ashcan Edition

WARNING: This is an untested ashcan written for the Total//Effect Jam. It needs playtesting and tweaking before it is ready for play.

The bridge between your soul and body has been marred, Seeker. It rots with every passing moment. The life you once lived was torn from you, and yet, your spirit lingers, clinging, unrelinquished to the Void. Your memories grow dim and distant. The Void beckons incessantly, demanding its due, filling your failing mind with a scream. In time you shall join its sundered souls, surrender yourself to their strange dances. In time you shall be Benighted.

Your death was broken, incomplete. Your breath is a debt that you will one day pay. Now, you travel the Void alongside your kind seeking lingering souls to sustain your flesh. 

Benighted is a dark fantasy TTRPG set in space, inspired by The Locked Tomb, the Soul series, and Dune. You play as Seekers, those whose souls did not split from their bodies upon their death. Now, you cling to your existence with tenuous fragility, braving the secluded fortresses of strange god-despots across the Solar System to sustain your body from ever-growing decay.
